MONTHLY REVIEW - SEPTEMBER 2026
Hi All 🙂
This is the first of our season monthly reviews.
The aim is for us to reflect on how the players are doing so far, the community you are creating, what has worked well, and also the areas we will continue to develop.
Enjoy ⚽️
⚽️ TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT
Being back training twice a week has already shown significant technical improvement in the players' ball control, ball mastery and decision making at training.
We have covered 1v1 work, overload practices to develop their decision making, and match-based practices to reinforce their learning and help them translate it onto match days.
The overall aim with Tekky Tuesday is to improve the players' TEKKERS! This means lots of touches on the ball, with added interference and pressure so they develop how and when to use these techniques.
In such a short space of time, we have seen a huge amount of technical improvement in the players and the way they approach training.
You can see below how we are developing, step by step and very deliberately, our individual players in attack 👇

🏆 match days
A real mixed bag of results and performances in September, which is fine.
Why is it fine?
Firstly, we believe some teams are currently playing in a group that is too high for them to be consistently competitive. This will be adjusted by the league after half term.
But also...
At this stage of our season plan, the focus has deliberately been heavily on individual player development. Allowing them to love the ball, improve their techniques and have the confidence to try things. Players can't be successful long term without having a sound technical base to build upon.
At the moment you will see lots of attempts at dribbles and individual play. There will be A LOT of times the players lose the ball which may affect the outcome of the match, but there will also be snippets of brilliance which we absolutely love to see.
This does not mean we aren't developing them as a team. The players and managers are still getting used to one another, and that understanding and team camaraderie takes time.
As the season develops, we will gradually layer more team principles on top of the individual foundations we are building now.
In the next section, you will see where we feel ALL of the teams need to improve to help them be more successful on match day 👇
Please remember, whilst losing football matches is disappointing, this is a long-term development journey and we are not looking for quick successes.
✅ Improvements required & what we are doing to support
Through reading the managers' match reports and watching the players at training, it is clear to us that we need to help the players further understand the value of working hard to steal the ball, as a priority above all else.
Football is way more fun when you have the ball at your feet right? 🙂
This involves:
• Wanting to steal and get the ball
• Wanting to help their team at all times
• Understanding the importance of working as a team out of possession
We will be tweaking our training programme to add:
• MORE competition & intensity
• MORE emphasis on this topic
• MORE rewards for positive actions• Educating the players when their work rate needs to improve
We ask for your support on this with your child away from the training and match day pitch.
I attach below our out-of-possession targets for the season, as individuals and as a team 👇

👉 We will also continue to support their decision making when in possession.
💛 YOUR COMMUNITY

Now for some praise for you parents 👏
The main reason I decided to stop our previous football club was that we felt the community of the club had become disjointed.
When people ask me how Origo FC is going, the first thing I say is how good the buzz and togetherness amongst the parents and players has been.
Hats off to you all 🙂
Whilst we want our players to develop, and of course win football matches along the way, we also want their football experience to be an amazing one which sets them up well later in life as a little human being. You play a HUGE role in this.
10 years of my dad managing my football team has led me to where I am today, and football is now my passion and my career! Without that positive experience, I would not be doing what I do today.
Thank you for your continued support 💙
💛 THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS AND MANAGERS

Kit is the single biggest cost to the football club. We are so grateful that we were able to source sponsorship funds for our tracksuits and home kits for every player who joined over the summer before the funds ran out!
A huge thank you to:
MSL, Croydon - who funded our home kit and player tracksuits
TCC Group - who funded our managers' tracksuits
Our total kit cost for the summer period was £5,500 and we could not have done this without them.
And to our managers....💙
You have joined our new project and are helping our players and families enjoy their football.
Each of our managers has a full-time job outside of the club, which means long days for them on training nights and Saturday mornings committed to the club.
They are learning lots about their players, teams, our expectations and our philosophy. But one thing is for sure, they are doing their utmost to support everyone in the right way.
Continue to support them on their own journey - it can be a lonely job managing a football team 😬
Thank you so much again 💙⚽️
Ash, Ashley & Affiq
The Senza Way.
